Coconut oil is obtained by compressing the dried white pulp of the fruit of the coconut palm, the coconut. Like palm oil, coconut oil is a tropical oil, which solidifies at temperatures below 20°C. Approximately 50% of this oil consists of the saturated fatty acid lauric acid.

Colour and flavour
Coconut oil solidifies below 25°C and it is white in colour. This product has a neutral odour and a neutral flavour, both in its solidified and heated form.
Use
Roughly 90% of coconut oil consists of saturated vegetable fats. Saturated fats are very insensitive to heat and oxidation. That is why the oil is longer lasting and does not turn rancid quickly or become toxic during frying. Coconut oil is perfect for frying and deep frying. Coconut oil is also directly consumable. For example, the product can be used as a spread. Coconut oil can also be used as a facial cream; the product is 100% natural and contains no additives.
